Why should I use a professional pet sitter?

Many Pet experts believe that keeping pets in their familiar surroundings helps to alleviate the stress imposed when their owners must leave home. Pets are then also able to maintain their diet and exercise routine, and enjoy the personal attention provided by a pet sitter. This also eliminates the trauma of being transported and minimizes their exposure to illnesses of other animals.

How are you different than other pet sitting services in the area?

Our goal at Agile Animals Pet Sitting is to provide you with the trust and reliability that your pets deserve. Unlike many pet sitters, this is my only profession and not a side job, therefore I take great pride in offering you the same care that I would want my own pets to have. When you become a client you and your pets become our family.

What services do you offer?

Lorraine’s Pet & House-Sitting Services provides in-home pet care, and dog walking services. This means our sitters travel to our client’s homes to care for their pets. We provide service for whatever they need; travel, long work hours; a late meeting, recovering from surgery; working from home but not enough time to walk the dog, don’t trust the kids to care for the animals properly. Whatever the reason, we will be there! Our clients are mostly cat and dog owners, but we will also visit rabbits, birds, frogs, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, iguanas, etc.

Clients are also able to customize their services with the number of visits, and how long those visits are. We also bring in mail and packages, set out trash, and rotate lights so that your home has a lived-in look.

We also provide additional add on services to enhance your pet’s needs.

How does a client get started with your services?

Contact us via phone at 215-917-4661 or email at Lmasticola@gmail.com we will provide you with all the details and schedule a registration meeting at your convenience.

Do you have to have a pet to use house sitting services?

Not at all! We can provide custom house-sitting services while you are away such as bringing packages in, watering plants, general house check, setting out trash, etc. Let us know your needs!

So, you don’t board pet or bring them into you home?

No. We believe in in-home care, which is why we have chosen not to have a boarding facility. However, we do have pet care providers who can remain at the client’s home. This is our overnight/house sitting service, which is EXTREMELY popular.

What time do sitters make their rounds?

    • Morning visits are 7am-9am
    • Mid-day visits are 11am-3pm
    • Evening visits are 4pm-6pm
    • Late Night Visits are 7-9pm

No longer than 12 hours ever goes in between visits. For example, if your pooch were visited at 8pm, the sitter would arrive to your home no later than 8am the following morning.

Dog Walking visits are typically 30 minutes. And quick visits (appropriate for shy cats and small caged animals that do not require a lot of attention) are typically 15-20 minutes.

What is a meet and greet?

A meet and greet meeting is a visit that allows the client to get to know our services and to determine if this is compatible with what you need. During this visit their pet care provider will introduce themselves, spend some quality time with the pet, confirm and review the pertinent information about the home and pet care routine (e.g., vet information, emergency contact, special requests, etc.), and answer any additional questions the client may have. We do NOT provide service until this meeting has taken place.

How do you accept payment?

We currently accept PayPal, Venmo, Check, and Cash as payments. There is a $30.00 fee on returned payments.

Are their extra costs for Holidays?

No we do not charge extra for the Holidays.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require a 24-hour notice for Mid-Day dog walks, and a 48-hour notice for Pet Sitting Services.

What about last-minute requests?

We are more than happy to consider last minute requests if needed. We understand that emergencies do often happen, and we are here for you.

Do pet sitters administer medications?

We can administer medications to your pet per Prescription Instructions from your vet, and any specific written information that is provided. Medications are accounted for prior to the visit and discussed to make sure that your pets are receiving the proper dosage. Your vet may be contacted for additional instructions if needed.

Do you care for pets that have aggression issues?

If the pet has aggressively bit someone in the past, then no, we cannot provide service. If the pet is skittish and maybe just growls around those he does not know, then we will be happy to work with the client to see if a pet care plan can be designed that works. Our sitter will interview the client and the pet to determine if this is possible. If additional visits are necessary to socialize the pet with our pet care provider, then the client needs to be present at all visits and pay the normal service fee until socialized. If at any time our pet sitter or pet owner feels that it is unsafe to perform a service, we will reserve the right to discontinue service without notice.

How do pet sitters discipline the pets in their care?

We use ONLY POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT to discipline pets. We will never hit, spank, slap, yank the leash, yell, shock or grab your pet. If there is a disciplinary problem, i.e., toilet training issues, running away, etc., we inform our client of the incident(s) and together we work out a solution.

What happens if a pet becomes ill while their owner is unavailable?

If we suspect that something is wrong with a pet, we will call you at the emergency phone numbers we have on file. If the client believes the veterinarian should see the pet, we will transport him to the veterinarian’s office for examination and treatment. In the event we cannot reach the client, we will decide if the veterinarian should see your pet. If necessary, we will take your pet for treatment. You will be billed for any extra time we spend for these services.

How are client’s keys handled?

The only client keys that we keep are for those that use Lorraine’s Pet & House-Sitting Services on a continuous, weekly basis. Otherwise, the keys remain in control of the owner. I strongly believe in this. For pet sitting services, we will collect 2 copies of your keys prior to the pet sitting duration. Keys are returned after the visit.

Note: Pet Nanny will not be held responsible for keys that a client asks a sitter to keep on file.
